The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. They are not a bank in the common sense. They are made up of two unique development institutions owned by 185 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).

Each institution plays a different but supportive role in our mission of global poverty reduction and the improvement of living standards. The IBRD focuses on middle income and creditworthy poor countries, while IDA focuses on the poorest countries in the world.

Together they provide low-interest loans, interest-free credit and grants to developing countries for education, health, infrastructure, communications and many other purposes.

The Department for International Development (DFID) is the British government department responsible for Britain’s contribution towards international efforts to eliminate poverty.

They work in partnership with developing country governments towards poverty alleviation. DFID India is one of a number of DFID offices world-wide and it implements DFID's largest single overseas programme contributing to poverty eradication.

DFID India works in partnership with the Government of India to achieve its national development targets and its commitment to the Millennium Development Goals. DFID is partnering with SIDBI in Project on Financing and Development of SMEs.

KfW Entwicklungsbank gives impulses for the economy, society and ecology in Germany, Europe and the world over. They supports change and promotes promising ideas. KfW Entwicklungsbank finances investments and accompanying consulting services in developing countries.

They carries out its work on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). KfW Entwicklungsbank is committed to the primary goal of German development cooperation, namely to sustainably improve the economic and social conditions of the people in developing countries.

Through its Financial Cooperation (FC) they contributes to reducing poverty, protecting natural resources and securing peace worldwide. KfW is partnering with SIDBI in Project on Financing and Development of SMEs.

The GtZ is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GtZ promotes complex reforms and change processes, often working under difficult conditions.

Their corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis. India has been a priority partner country of German Development Cooperation for more than 40 years.

GtZ has been active in India on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for almost all of this period. GtZ has partnered with SIDBI in Project on Financing and Development of SMEs.

Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) was Established in April 2, 1990 . The business domain of SIDBI consists of small scale industrial units, which contribute significantly to the national economy in terms of production, employment and exports.

In addition, SIDBI's assistance flows to the transport, health care and tourism sectors and also to the professional and self-employed persons setting up small-sized professional ventures.

SIDBI is Principal Development Financial Institution for :

• Promotion
• Financing and
• Development of Industries in the small scale sector and
• Co-ordinating the functions of other institutions engaged in similar activities.

Mission: To empower the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector with a view to contributing to the process of economic growth, employment generation and balanced regional development.

Four basic objectives are set out in the SIDBI Charter. They are:

• Promotion
• Development
• Co-ordination

ACDS (Apex Cluster Development Services Pvt Ltd) primarily works for Cluster Development in a diverse range of fields, like Information Communication Technology & Innovation, Regional Development, Business Competitiveness and Governance empowerment.
